A. You need to enroll/waive the CUA Student Medical Insurance each academic year. Usually this is done at the beginning of the fall semester. If a student enters in January, enrollment/waiver is done at that time. Continuing students do not need to do anything in January.
Q. How do I get to the enrollment/waiver page?
A. Go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com . Once you are there, click on "Student Connection" and then click on "Find Your School", enter "Catholic University" or the policy number "100109". Once at the Catholic University web page, click on the "Waive" tab.
Q. Is there a deadline by which I need to enroll or waive the CUA Student Medical Insurance?
A. Yes, the deadline for fall term, 2007 was September 8, 2007. The deadline for spring semester entering students is February 14, 2008. If you missed the fall deadline, you may use the waiver procedure outlined above between September 17 and November 30, 2007 to Petition for a Late Waiver.
Q. Is there a special process for International Students if they want to waive the medical insurance?
A. Once an international student has completed the online waiver procedure, a copy of the student's alternate health insurance policy must be provided to the University.
Q. If I waive CUA Student Medical Insurance Plan during the fall semester, can I enroll for the CUA Student Medical Insurance Plan for the spring semester?
A. It may be possible to enroll for the spring semester. Please contact Aetna Customer Service about enrolling for the spring semester.
Q. How do I secure a copy of the CUA Student Medical Insurance brochure?
A. A copy of the CUA Student Health Insurance brochure is available online at www.aetnastudenthealth.com . Click on "Student Connection" and then identify your school as Catholic University or policy number as 100109. At the Catholic University Webpage, click on "Policy Info".
Q. I have not received a medical insurance card for my policy. How do I get one?
A. Contact Aetna customer service to request a new ID card.
Q. I am unable to get beyond the ID # and birthdate page. What should I do?
A. Sometimes the form will loop on this page when you access the form though Cardinal Station. You should access the form using the Aetna website instead. Go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com , click on "Student Connection" and identify your school as Catholic University or policy number as 100109. Once on the Catholic University Webpage, click on the "Waive" tab.
